David Brull is a National Account Director for MC², an industry leader in exhibit and event design and production. David has 14 years of experience in face-to-face marketing, marketing communications, event management, marketing collateral development, project management, business development, and research. He is responsible for developing strategic client relationships, overseeing all aspects of clients' projects from start to completion, and creating new business development strategies.

Dave and I first met in his previous position as Vice President of Marketing and Membership for TSEA, overseeing all marketing and sales efforts including developing strategic relationships, managing association meetings and events, overseeing public relations, and building the association's social media channels. Additionally, he coordinated and executed advocacy programs on behalf of association members including the 2010 Red Diamond Congress and acted as an advisor to members on their marketing challenges. Much of what I have learned about the Trade Show and Exhibit industries was from Dave.

Dave recently signed up as a TSEA mentor. Dave commented, “Mentoring is one of the most important services we can offer both new and existing members. Whenever we have a new position or even a new assignment, there is often so much that we need to learn to guarantee our success. Although some of what we learn is from  our on-the-job experience, it is especially helpful to have someone with the expertise that we all can go to for answers to help accelerate the process or find ways to solve a challenge.”

Dave is also a member of TSEA’s MarCom Committee. I asked Dave what some of the new challenges that the committee will be addressing in 2012. Dave replied, “It’s really similar to any B2B company: how do we break through the clutter of day-to-day life to communicate the value proposition of membership in TSEA and spur an action to join and/or become more involved.”

Dave has spoken and presented at industry meetings and events across the country on a variety of subjects including Integrating Social Media into your Tradeshows at Social Media Week 2011, Effective Customer Engagement at TSEA Red Diamond Congress 2011, and TSEA Chapter Meetings. In addition, he has facilitated the Association Forum of Chicagoland's Association 101 full day orientation class on multiple occasions.

Dave is a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and loves to play sports, travel, and spend time with his family during his spare time.
