Prairie Display/Chicago, Inc. has been producing and managing exhibits, displays, and event graphics since 1983. I spoke with Steve Moskal, President of Prairie Display/Chicago and a member of the TSEA Board of Directors. Steve is a lifelong Chicago area resident and lives in Elmhurst, Illinois with his wife and two  teenage children. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with degrees in Journalism and Fine Arts and has been involved in the trade show and event industries since 1983. Steve has been active in his community over the years by  coaching youth baseball, football, and soccer and serving on a number of  local non-profit boards and committees. He was recently appointed to the city's Economic Development Commission.

I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Steve to learn more about his company. “We have consistently been recognized by the trade show and events industry when it comes to design, graphic production, innovation, and overall performance,”  Steve told me. Prairie Display/Chicago works with all different types of clients, as Steve explained, and "has the products and programs to help any company succeed, whether this is their first event or a seasoned veteran; whether they need a simple banner stand or a large, island environment.”

Products

Prairie Display/Chicago offers many products to meet the individual needs of their clients including,

  • Nomadic Display is best known for creating pop-up technology for over 30 years ago. “Nomadic is the leader worldwide in top-of-the-line custom modular and custom portable displays for tradeshows, events, and mobile marketing presentations, and features inline and island displays which are easy to use and designed to create dynamic environments that capture audience attention,” Steve explained. Prairie Display/Chicago is one of the highest volume and most experienced Nomadic Display distributors in North America and is recognized as a 'Premium Partner.'  "Prairie works with our clients to design a display that suits your corporate image and target audience,” Steve added.

  • Graphic Production processes include Lambda, inkjet and dye sublimation fabric on a wide variety of surfaces and substrates. “Clients can also count on us for specialty products like logo table throws, indoor/outdoor banners, and banner stands,” Steve emphasized. Prairie Display/Chicago can produce graphics for the Nomadic Display product line as well as for virtually any other display system. “With our in-house design and graphic production capabilities,” Steve said, “we deliver your project both affordably and on time.”

  • Rental.  “Display rental is increasing in popularity as companies realize they can have significant cost savings and custom-tailored design,” Steve told me. At Prairie Display/Chicago, they have a vast inventory of 10’, 20’, and island configurations. They will ship from their Chicago area location or from Nomadic’s Las Vegas warehouse.

Services

Prairie Display/Chicago also has multiple services including,

  • Store and Ship Program.  “Each client’s portable/modular display properties are unique and Prairie Display/Chicago designs an affordable and customized program for each client,” Steve explained. I asked Steve to describe the elements of this program and how they effect the displays. “Properties are inspected after every event and quickly made ready for the next use,” Steve answered. He continued, “Display and graphic properties last three to four times longer allowing our clients’ display budgets to go farther. We coordinate shipping logistics using each client’s preferred carrier or one of our experienced partners. Our centralized location keeps your shipping costs down, no matter where you are located.”

  • Graphic Design and Digital Files. The Prairie Display/Chicago staff works with each client to design their graphics and set up their digital files, making them print-ready.

  • Preparation – Show Services, Show Site Labor, and Supervision.  According to Steve,"When is a client is short on time and staff, Prairie Display can assist them with every aspect of their trade show or special event including ordering show services and arranging for, and providing for, installation and dismantle of their properties nationwide.”

TSEA

Prairie Display/Chicago has been a member of TSEA since November 2008, and Steve joined the TSEA Board of Directors the following year. Steve told me that “Through our TSEA membership, Prairie Display/Chicago keeps its finger on the pulse of the industry. The trade show and event industry is unique in that suppliers are really on the same side as the customer/exhibitor. We are both working to make their events a success. By being part of TSEA, we have formed a better understanding of what the customer really needs and wants. It is our way of supporting the industry and the TSEA pillars of education, advocacy, and networking.”
