The Focus Award judging panel includes experts from various segments of the exhibit and event industry, including: exhibit, event, and marketing managers; exhibit designers, builders, and producers; show managers; publishers; educators; and consultants. The panel meets at TSEA Headquarters in Chicago, IL, to judge the entries. All judgments are final and are the responsibility of the judging panel.
Overall, judges look for the following when judging Focus Award entries:

- A clear statement of the challenge.
- Well-defined objectives and measurable tools.
- Data showing that you achieved your expected Return On Investment/Objectives.
- Quality of photography and other supplementary pieces.
- Well-written, concise sentences.
- Overall packaging and presentation.
