2007 Focus Award Entry Categories & Requirements
The following are categories for the 2007 Focus Award competition:
Promotions
This category evaluates the corporate event/exhibit manager’s skills in identifying the target audience and using the appropriate media to attract them to the event/exhibit, or mediums used to follow-up with attendees during post-show promotional activities.

Face-to-Face Experience
This category evaluates the corporate event/exhibit manager’s ability to successfully manage the design and implementation of a three-dimensional environment that aligns with the company’s objectives and brand, delivering a face-to-face marketing experience that immerses the attendee in a sensory environment.

Integrated Solution
This category recognizes and evaluates the total event. Entries in this category must present a compelling argument that their event excelled in creating the complete experience – one that brings together pre or post-event marketing as well as all of the elements of a successful face-to-face experience. To enter this category, you must complete all of the requested information from both the Promotions and Face-to-Face Experience categories. Entrants in this category might consider placing their event as a separate entry in one or both of the other categories since this category looks at the best combined effort and your entry may be equally competitive in one of the more vertical categories as well.

Best Bang for the Buck
This award, described as a judge's choice award, allows for the recognition of an effective effort where the budget may have been more demanding. The judges are looking for that rare spark of creativity and ingenuity where the Exhibit/Event manager managed to exceed expectations of ROI/ROO by delivering the impact of a project with far greater budget dollars. While it’s possible that a well-funded event might win this category, judges tend to turn their eye towards that “little gem” that makes the panel pause in admiration of that effort where success was not dependent on dollars. Since this is a judges’ selection from across the other three categories, there is no format to worry about.

Requirements
Applicants can choose to enter multiple categories if their face-to-face marketing programs encompass components from more than one category; or enter the Integrated Solution category if their program resulted in a complete marketing experience from pre, at, and post-event activities.

Please follow the sequence of judging criteria outlined for each category. Judging forms used during the evaluation of entries requires the judges to record their scores to match this sequence. The pre-determined sequence also assists judges in the fair and effective evaluation of all entries.

Remember, the Focus Award competition is a professional program. Therefore, the overall presentation and appearance of your entry will be a determining factor in the judging process. Faxed entry forms are discouraged.
