Chicago, Ill. – January 18, 2007 – Andrew Dudek, TSEA Chairman of the Board, announced that the association has granted Sal Cavallaro a Lifetime Membership, in gratitude and recognition of his many years of dedication and service to the association and industry. “Sal has served as TSEA’s Chairman of the Board, and was the driving force behind our Roger LaForte Scholarship program,” said Steve Schuldenfrei, TSEA President. He continued, “Sal has been extremely loyal and focused, and TSEA, as well as the entire trade show industry, have benefited greatly from his hard work and expertise. Granting him a Lifetime Membership was the least we could do.”
Cavallaro is a 35-year veteran of sales promotion, marketing support and the trade show industry, and retired in December 2006 from United Technologies Corp. (UTC). He has since launched his own consulting business, SJC Consulting, LLC.
Cavallaro joined UTC’s corporate offices in 1982 from its Carrier subsidiary, after working for Inmont Corp. as sales promotion manager since 1976. Prior to joining UTC, Cavallaro worked for Panasonic in Secaucus, N.J. At UTC, he coordinated trade show participation among the $43 billion, Dow Jones Industrial company’s subsidiaries, and chaired the UTC Air Show Committee since 2000. He has won several UTC recognition awards including two of the prestigious Chairman’s Awards. He has taken lead roles in many major multi-subsidiary events for UTC, including the Paris, Farnborough and Asian Aerospace air shows, as well as for a multitude of major domestic aerospace and building systems events.
He has also served on TSEA’s Board of Directors since 2000, including two years as Chairman, and has held its Certified Manager of Exhibits® (CME®) designation since 1990.
Cavallaro joins these Lifetime Membership recipients: Joe Federico, Richard “Dick” Gorbett, Bob Dallmeyer, Thoburn Stiles, Ray Remaley and Bill Chipping.
