EXPOCAD and BDMetrics Form Strategic Alliance
EXPOCAD and BDMetrics announced a strategic alliance that integrates their technologies to drive next generation ROI for their customers. The alliance formed as a result of the field-tested integration of both companies’ technology tools, which are delivering significant benefits to a growing number of mutual customers. The relationship integrates BDMetrics' leading ROI technology with EXPOCAD’s powerful database-driven exhibitor technology, which lowers event owner costs and delivers real-time ROI data to exhibitors and event sales teams.
“This is fantastic news," remarked Chris Brown, EVP of Conventions for NAB. "BDMetrics and EXPOCAD are clearly market leaders, and the ability to link these two “best-of-breed” technologies creates numerous benefits to the event owner, and ultimately to our exhibitors. The immediate benefit is lower data transfer costs, but most importantly, it delivers measurable ROI for our exhibitors and powerful sales tools for our event teams.”
Rick Geritz, CEO of BDMetrics commented, “Our customers are not interested in buying software, but in driving value and ROI to their customers. This integration does all the work so they don’t have to.”
Freeman’s Boston Branch Assumes New Leadership
Anthony Floreano has been named general manager for Freeman’s Boston office. He replaces George Slattery III, who has taken on a new senior sales role with the national exposition services sales group.
Floreano joins Freeman with more than fifteen years of industry experience. His roots are in event and facility management, beginning in Rochester, NY. Since 1996, Floreano has been in the Boston area, where he served as both the assistant GM for the Hynes Convention Center and resident district manager, handing regional services for ARAMARK’s major event facilities. Most recently, Floreano served as the northeast general manager for GES Expo.
With more than twenty years in sales and management roles with Freeman, Slattery III’s new role in the national sales area will enable him to focus on providing strategic resources to major long-term clients of Freeman.
NY Official Says Smaller Javits Expansion Planned
USAE reported: Patrick Foye, New York’s top economic development official, has announced the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion will be confined to 300,000 square feet at a cost of $1.8 billion. Foye made the announcement at a breakfast forum of 500 people sponsored by Crain’s New York Business. The expansion plan had been criticized by tradeshow executives and government officials as too expensive for not enough additional space.
