New CEIR Reports
The Center for Exhibition Research (CEIR) announced the release of three marketing and communications reports. Based upon survey response data compiled by Exhibit Surveys, Inc, these reports highlight that exhibitions deliver highly-qualified prospects with buying influence, including many who target one exhibition and event exclusively. According to the research, an overwhelming 79 percent of all qualified attendees represent a new potential customer for exhibiting companies, including more than 80 percent who have purchasing influence.
CEIR also reported year-to-date revenue rose 5.3 percent, to $2.94 billion, when compared to the same time period in 2006, and attendance grew 3.1 percent. The other first quarter numbers for 2007 compared to 2006 are Net Square Feet up 0.2 percent and Exhibitors up 0.6 percent.

The National Speakers Association Certifies 26 Speaking Professionals
The National Speakers Association (NSA), the leading organization for professional speakers, is proud to announce that 26 professional speakers have earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation in 2007.
Established in 1980, the CSP is the speaking profession’s international measure of speaking experience and skill. Fewer than 10 percent of the speakers who belong to the International Federation for Professional Speakers hold this professional designation.
The CSP designation is conferred by the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the International Federation for Professional Speakers (IFFPS) only on accomplished professional speakers who have earned it by meeting strict criteria. CSPs must document a proven track record of continuing speaking experience and expertise as well as a commitment to ongoing education, outstanding client service and ethical behavior. The 2007 class of CSPs will be honored during a ceremony on July 10 at the NSA Convention in San Diego, Calif.
"Earning your CSP takes a tremendous amount of commitment,” says 2006-07 NSA President Lenora Billings-Harris, CSP. “To be part of such an exclusive list of speakers who have earned this designation demonstrates that the speaker has withstood the test of time and competency."
