About Face—The Journal of Face-to-Face Marketing Wins Award
TSEA’s new quarterly publication takes home first place in Association Trends’ “2006 All Media Contest”

Chicago, Ill. – March 6, 2007 – Andrew Dudek, TSEA Chairman of the Board, announced that the association’s publication, About Face—The Journal of Face-to-Face Marketing, has won first place in Association Trends’ 2006 All-Media Contest for the “Trade Association Magazine, Budget Under $1 Million.” Stephen Schuldenfrei, TSEA president, traveled with some of the publication’s staff to receive the award in Washington D.C. “The media competition was strong; we couldn’t have been more pleased or excited to receive this award for our first issue of About Face,” said Schuldenfrei. He continued, “This honor solidifies TSEA’s choice to jump back into the print publication ring. People have responded quite positively to the journal.”

Association Trends’ 2006 All-Media Contest has been showcasing the best and brightest association publications for more than 30 years. Forty judges, including experts from art agencies and advertising companies, as well as professors and association executives, presided over the 2006 contest. Criteria encompassed: content, style, appearance, layout, effectiveness and appropriateness.

Jill Martineau Cornish, president and publisher of Association Trends, said the competition was started because there was no contest in place for association publications. “Years ago, the entries we received were pedestrian and of poor quality. Now we receive publications like About Face that could easily be on a newsstand. The content and design is stellar,” Cornish said. She continued, “The All-Media Contest is part of a salute to association excellence, and illustrates the value of associations to our economy and to the American public. TSEA and About Face exemplify that value.”

The next issue of About Face will hit streets mid-March.
