TSEA Launches 2007 Focus™ Award Competition
Chicago, Ill. – March 19, 2007 – Stephen Schuldenfrei, TSEA president, announced today that the association is accepting entries for its annual Focus™ Award competition. The contest recognizes professionals that strive for and achieve excellence in their face-to-face marketing activities.

“We’re excited to announce the launch of our 2007 Focus Award contest,” said Schuldenfrei. “During the last several years, TSEA has worked tirelessly to build the Focus Award contest into a vehicle that rewards the commitment of exhibit and event professionals to their profession and the industry as a whole. We’re looking forward to reviewing all of the entries and seeing the innovative tactics that are used to achieve a return on investment for exhibit and event campaigns. Let the competition begin!”

The entry categories for the 2007 Focus Award contest include:

• Promotions: Evaluates the corporate event/exhibit professional’s skills in identifying the target audience, using the appropriate media to attract them to the exhibit/event, or mediums used to follow-up with attendees during post-show promotional activities.
• Face-to-Face Experience: Evaluates the corporate event/exhibit professional’s ability to successfully manage the design and implementation of a three-dimensional environment that aligns with the company’s objectives and brand.
• Integrated Solution: Recognizes the total event – one that brings together pre- or post-event marketing, as well as all the elements of a successful face-to-face experience.

Also returning for the 2007 contest is the “Best Bang for the Buck” judge’s choice award, which recognizes an effective face-to-face marketing campaign where the budget may have been more demanding.

Contestants can enter face-to-face marketing programs that were created and implemented at a trade show, special event, or proprietary event between December 1, 2005 and November 30, 2006. Exhibit designers and producers, advertising and marketing agencies, etc. can also enter the competition on behalf of clients, but clients are required to sign-off on the entry. The entry deadline for the contest is June 8, 2007. Late entries will be accepted until June 22, 2007.

The 2007 Focus Award entries will be critiqued by experts from various segments of the exhibit and event industry including: exhibit, event, and marketing managers; exhibit designers, builders, and producers; show managers; publishers; and consultants.

2007 Focus Award winners will be presented with trophies at the TSEA-sponsored annual conference and exhibition, TS2®, July 31 – August 2, 2007, in Washington, D.C. Complete winning entries also will be showcased at TS2® 2007 in a special awards display; announced to the press in a TSEA-issued press release; and profiled on TSEA’s website and in TSEA’s bi-weekly electronic newsletter, E&E Professional.
