Tim Naegelin, CME
Tim Naegelin, CME, has nine years experience managing trade shows in both the high- tech and healthcare industries. He currently manages the Portable Exhibit Program and project manages US trade shows at Abbott Vascular, a division of Abbott, one of the world’s leading vascular care businesses, focused on transforming the treatment of vascular disease and improving patient care through medical innovation, located in Santa Clara, CA. Tim is involved in approximately 100 shows a year with major exhibits in New York, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, Washington DC, and San Francisco.
Previous to Abbott Vascular, Tim worked at R2 Technology which developed diagnostic imaging systems to detect breast cancer and lung cancer. Prior to that that, Tim worked with Corio, an application service provider. His first job in Silicon Valley was with alphblox who developed web-based platforms for eBusiness analysis.
Tim was born and raised in Missouri and earned a BA in Communications from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He moved to California in 2000.
Tim plays volleyball and is a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club where he is also a Level 1 Instructor. The club has expanded dramatically over the past few years. When Tim joined in 2002, they played six times a year. Now there are four local leagues that play year round. Members of the club have competed in the Deaf Olympics, US Olympic Playdowns, and Club national tournaments.
Tim has been an active member of the Tradeshow Exhibitors Association (TSEA) since 2007 and the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association (HCEA) since 2009. He serves as the Vice Chair of the NorCal Chapter TSEA , serves as a member of TSEA's AboutFace Editorial Committee, and has presented at the HCEA Annual Meeting. Tim has also held seats on different healthcare organization’s Exhibitor Advisory Councils.
According to Tim, "TSEA has helped me grow and learn as a trade show organizer. I’ve gotten tons of new ideas from the educational sessions and webinars I’ve attended and have made many new friends from the annual meetings. I can stay on top of current trends and really apply what I’ve learned to my job."
