The TSEA/UNLV-Accredited Trade Show Study Program
In November 2010, TSEA President and CEO Margit B. Weisgal, CME recommended that the TSEA CME and CME/H programs be expanded to include a text-based study program that could provide TSEA members with CEU credits. With the assistance of the TSEA Education Committee, a new education program titled the TSEA/UNLV Trade Show Study Program was implemented on April 1, 2011 and provides our members with a series of extensive articles on topics designed to expand our members' knowledge of and expertise in central aspects of successful trade show and exhibit management.
The current plan is to offer one new article each quarter in the Members Only section of our website along with the applicable exam which the registrant must complete and pass with a score of 80% or higher to earn one tenth of one Continuing Education Unit (.1 CEU). If a registrant fails the exam no credit will be provided and is not allowed to retake the exam. The complete details of the program are detailed in the Education section of the TSEA website.
According to Weisgal, "Given our members’ time constraints, by expanding opportunities, they can more easily build the required CEUs to achieve their certifications. One goal of TSEA is to have an educated, knowledgeable, and professional membership; this is one more step in the process."
The first Trade Show Study Program article featured is titled "Helping Internal and External Customers Succeed" by Keith Reznick president of Creative Training Solutions who is regular contributor to AboutFace and a highly-rated and popular faculty member of the the TSEA/UNLV webinar faculty. According to Keith, "TSEA members have limited time - the beauty of this approach is that it enables TSEA to provide quality content to members who can download an article and read it at their convenience - on a plane, when a connection to the internet is unavailable - anytime they choose."
Other upcoming articles in the Trade Show Study Program include features on social media challenges in trade show management and international exhibiting challenges.
